Principal Solicitor
Jeanne Stokes
Jeanne’s family connections to the Tablelands instilled in her a passion for the region and its communities. Her previous employment at G.L. Prior & Associates in Malanda instilled a strong desire in Jeanne to build a country law practice that truly represented its clients. This culminated in her purchase and rebranding of G.L. Prior & Associates in 2023.
Jeanne is a solicitor experienced in various legal disciplines including residential and commercial conveyancing (including business sales), estate planning, wills, enduring powers of attorney, leasing and deceased estates. Working in Cairns and on the Tablelands throughout her legal career has enabled Jeanne to identify and truly understand the challenges and opportunities that exist in the region.
Before embarking on her legal career, Jeanne was an entrepreneur, jointly running three businesses with her partner and, earlier in her career, she cut her teeth in the Royal Australian Air Force before dedicating a decade to Qantas Airways as a supervisor of the Qantas lounges at Cairns Airport. Her focus was and will always be on customer service and satisfaction.
Jeanne’s diverse background and considerable experience with conveyancing and legal services in Far North Queensland gives her a unique understanding of a client’s diverse needs and challenges. Sound, confidential legal advice delivered in a genuine and caring environment has helped Jeanne build trust and relationships with those in her community who she lives with, volunteers with, laughs with and sadly, sometimes cries with. New residents who have moved or, are moving to Far North Queensland, can feel assured that they will be in good hands with Jeanne and her amazing team at Malanda Law.
